What We Do

Utah NAME provides a variety of services to the state of Utah and beyond.

  • The annual Utah NAME Conference is held each spring providing educators across Utah and from bordering states the opportunity to learn from one another about the latest promising practices and research in multicultural education.  The conference brings respected scholars and activists in multicultural education to speak with conference participants about how to meet the needs of all learners in schools.
  • Utah NAME helps educators and organizations network to strengthen programs that address equitable educational opportunities to all learners.
  • Utah NAME Board Members are available to speak and consult on issues related to multicultural education.
  • A biannual newsletter, the Utah NAME News, is a resource to educators state-wide to learn about events, research, and organizations that promote multicultural education.

Utah NAME Conference participants tell us...

"I loved the thoroughness of the information."

"Utah has far more diversity than I was aware."

"I can be a leader for change in my school.  I can make a difference one child at a time."

"Diversity is everywhere and inevitable.  As a teacher, I have to be aware and sensitive of it."
